Windows file transfer

File transfer refers to transportation of data or information through computers. File can be transmitted over computer network and Internet. There are different methods and softwares available which help in the transmission of files. Windows file transfer can be done both locally and through internet. Easy file transfer is also called as downloading and uploading. The rule and the convention is described for transfer of file is called as File Transfer Protocol.

Windows file transfer can be done in two ways:

Pull-based: In this type of data transmission, a file transmission request is initiated by the receiver.

Push-based: In this type of data transmission a file transmission request is initiated by the sender.

File transfer is done using the following methods.

Explicitly transmission of file through FTP or HTTP.

Transparently transmission of data on network files system.

Transmission of data and information between peripheral devices and computer system

Transmission over modem and links.

Windows file transfer software refers to Windows file transfer program which is included in latest versions of the Windows operating system. Through this program File transfer can be achieved by switching files and settings between two computers. Using File transfer program you can transfer photos, videos, user accounts and its settings, and files of application configuration, documents, email messages and contacts.

There are different methods for file transfer from one computer to another over the network.

File Transfer Protocol(FTP) is a protocol defined for transmission of files from one host to other. FTP is based on TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) network. The architecture used in FTP is based on client server. A separate control and connections of data between the client and server is maintained in FTP.

Remote Access is which you can access the remote computer through login system.

Email system allows you to send message and file from one ID to other. In this system first message is send to the Email server then the recipient ID downloads it from email server. It is used when we want to transfer small amount of data. The size of message is limited in email system but you can send larger size by compressing or zipping the data.
