How To Fix The Task Bar With No Desktop Icons



The users of the Windows system often come across the term “Taskbar”. Well it is the familiar among the computer users; let’s have a glance at it. Taskbar is the grey colored strip found at the bottom of the monitor screen. The short cuts to the various programs usually termed as the icons are available in the taskbar.


The taskbar also comprises of the “start” menu, internet access icons and the clock. Sometimes there may be chances for the disappearance of the icons on the task bars. It is frequent thing in the new computers to have such kind of the problems where either the icons are not positioned manually or it may be due to the default setting of “off” in the property settings. The above mentioned problems can be solved easily and the desktop icons can be made appeared without any trouble. They are caused by the initial setup problems and nothing to bother about it.


But sometimes the virus infected system did the same thing which could put your system in trouble. It will let into the disappearance of the desktop icons, task bar as well as take much time to reboot when you are trying to restart.


Follow the simple procedures to switch on the desktop icons for the simple initial problems:

1.    Go to the “Start” icon and press right click to select the “properties”.
2.    Select the “Taskbar” tab from the dialogue box.
3.    Then unmark the “Lock the taskbar” and “Auto-hide the taskbar”. Then go through the “Show Quick Launch”. If it is not available then right click on the taskbar area to choose   the tool bars to get the “Quick Launch”.
4.    Then simply click the right click on the programs you want to add to the desktop and in the “Start” menu and can drag to the task bar. Choose the “Create shortcuts here” from the given menu. Now you can see the icon on the taskbar.


In case of the virus infected systems or old systems, the evaporation of the desktop icons is due to fact that the ‘explorer.exe” is subjected to the deletion or corruption. If so means, simply copy this file from any ‘C: WINDOWS’ folder of the system and paste the same to yours. And then reboot your system; everything will be restored as before. If it does not restore the icons, consult the technicians.

As these procedures involve the simple things to restore your icons, gain knowledge about these procedures so that you can handle your system by yourself. It is must to possess, as nowadays computer occupied the prominent place in life of the each individual.
