But people often have confusion between the two and use their terms interchangeably on many occasions. Even though both look alike in many traits, they are actually not featured with same things. Simply both are not the same one. In order to sweep away the related confusions about the laptops and notebooks, it is must to understand them clearly and separately.

Laptops are small computers which are very much craving for its portability and light weight nature. Today people prefer laptops than the desktops on behalf of its handy nature. People can take it to any where along with them even in hand or within their bag. It looks similar with the desktop PCs in some aspects like having display screen, keyboard and CPU. But all the units are packed under the one unit in the Laptop. It makes use of the liquid crystal display technology for its screen. Its display is usually larger than the notebooks and involves much peculiar mechanism in operation. Therefore it could be upgraded with latest updates in trouble-free manner. As it portable, its battery should be charged regularly for continuous usage. The provision for charging is also very simple and just connects the charger between power supply and charging port. But the life span of the battery is not larger than when compared to others. Speakers are of incorporated type with superior sound excellence. Above all it happened to be more powerful among all the products.  

Notebook is also less in weight and handy like the laptops. But its weight and size is very much less than the laptops. The dimension of the screen of notebook is somewhat less when compared to the laptops. But usually it costs expensive than the laptops. The main difference between the laptop and notebooks is the lack of provision for the insertion of floppy disks in notebooks but the feature for inserting compact disc and floppy disc is available in laptops. If you want to run the CD in the notebooks, have to use the external compact disc drive which should be connected through the cable. Above all the battery life of the notebook is quite higher than the laptops. The keyboard is not large enough like the laptop.

But both laptops and notebooks are utilized for the special applications irrespective of the difference in its specifications.
