The printer server is a computer device which is used for connecting many client computers over the network. This device will get the printing jobs from the various client computers saves in queues and send it to the appropriate printers for printing the job. This print server will works in all platforms and protocols. The print servers are devoted in the network for performing the printing job. A printer may have a built in printing server. The print servers are installed with all types of operating systems. This server is works in the first in first out scheduling process. Attach a printer with your computer usually all the operating system will detect the printer automatically. If the printer is not installed try the manual installation by using the driver disk. If you are not having the driver CD you can install by selecting the printer manufacture and model no already present in the setup wizard. Try this following step for installing the printer.
Click Settings > Control Panel Printer and Faxes. Then select add printer and click next. Select the local printer then the computer automatically detect and install plug and play printers. The wizard will automatically detect the attached printer. After the successful installation you will see the printer name in the control panel.
For setup the printer server the system server and client system must be configured for performing this queue printing operation. Follow this steps right click on the newly added printer select > properties. Select sharing share this printer. Then offer a shared printer name in the network for sharing the network printer. The given name is used by all the client computers on the network who are in need of sharing print server. The user can also change all the properties in the properties tab.
The client configuration is needed for accessing the network server through the print servers. The following command will helps you to connect the client computer with the network. Type command as >\system name \ shared printer name. Then the client can able to access with the network server. By using the simple steps the user can able use the service of print servers.
