How to install a scanner

Scanner is an electronic device which is used for scanning a document, image and any other object. The scanner is available in different types and styles the user can select according to his wish. Nowadays modern printers integrated with scanner device and only used for scanning text and images. The dedicated high resolution scanner is used for better scanning results than the integrated models. Before buying a scanner check the device will be compatible with your computer and select the scanner which matches your computer hardware support. Follow these simple steps to learn how to install a scanner.

Select the correct scanner model which matches your personal computer. The scanner can be connected to your computer through the dedicated parallel port or by using USB port. While purchasing the scanner choose correct connecting port. Scanner that uses a SCSI interface is better option than the proprietary interface which can be used with only one device.

Before installation of scanner driver software don't connect the scanner with the computer using any port cable. Insert the driver disk given with the scanner in CD-ROM. If the driver CD is not available download it from the particular product manufacturer website. Run the driver software an installation or setup wizard will appear on the screen.

Click install application scanner utility or other related option in the setup wizard. Then follow the instruction given in the wizard window. Accept the manufacturer license agreement by clicking yes or I agree. Then folder location will be asked choose according to your wish. Then click continue then follow instruction appear on the screen for finishing installation of scanner. If any problem arises disable the antivirus for some time and continue the scanner installation. Then restart your computer if required.

After restart a scanner installation wizard screen will appear. Then agree the terms and condition then click next. Select the products model name in the list shown if it asks. Then the installation wizard will copy necessary data files in to your computer. Switch on the scanner and connect the scanner using the dedicated port or USB port. Then your device will be detected and finally the installation of scanner will completely attached with your computer.

Start the scanner utility software. Then place the text document or photo to be scanned. Then select scan option in the toolbar. Then scanning process will be completed and save the image file and start using it and enjoy.
